Fei-Fei Li Raises $230 Million for AI Startup World Labs

Fei-Fei Li, Stanford professor and widely regarded as the “Godmother of AI,” has secured $230 million in funding for her new startup, World Labs. Backers include prominent venture capital firms Andreessen Horowitz, NEA, and Radical Ventures. The capital, raised in two rounds a few months apart, has positioned World Labs with a valuation exceeding $1 billion.

The company aims to revolutionize how AI models interact with the 3D world, creating “large world models” for professionals such as artists, designers, developers, and engineers. Expected to launch its first product by 2025, World Labs envisions its technology being utilized by game companies and movie studios, among others.
