According to Bloomberg, OpenAI is reportedly in discussions with investors to raise $6.5 billion at a $150 billion pre-money valuation. This new valuation is significantly higher than the $86 billion reported earlier this year, setting OpenAI apart from other AI startups.

The funding round will reportedly be led by Thrive Capital, with participation from key partners like Microsoft, Apple, and Nvidia. In addition, OpenAI is seeking to raise $5 billion in debt from various banks.

Previous reports by the Wall Street Journal in August indicated Thrive was planning a $1 billion contribution, estimating OpenAI’s valuation at $100 billion at the time.
